#1--What is included with my Membership?

The following is included in your membership:
  • Membership Card
  • Online Welcome Kit with documents about Tourette Syndrome that you can share
  • Periodic e-mail updates
  • E-mailed and mailed Newsletters
  • Welcome Pack for any diagnosed child
  • Discount on Annual TS Family Camp & Retreat (10%)
  • Voting rights in yearly election of Board Members
  • Members Only area of website including access to trainings
#2--Why Should I purchase a Membership?

Your membership in the PA Tourette Syndrome Alliance affords you many benefits and supports an organization that provides information, education and disability advocacy to those with Tourette Syndrome in Pennsylvania.  With your support we can help to promote awareness and understanding so that individuals with TS will be accepted!

#3--Why is the Membership just for one person?

The membership is just for one person, so the Lifetime Membership card can be personalized with their name.

#4--Why does a member need to be over 18 years old?  Can’t I just put the card in my child’s name?

Lifetime Membership is only for those over 18 because only those over 18 are permitted to vote for our Board of Directors.  Therefore the membership card can not be placed in your child's name (if your are under the age of 18).

#5--Whose name should go on the card, mine or my spouse?

It is up to you whose name goes on the card--but perhaps the parent who is most likely to be calling PA-TSA for assistance with the school process or other supports.

#6--If my name is on the Membership, but my spouse has a question for a Consultant—can he/she access those services?

Yes, anyone can ask for information, referrals and support at anytime.

#7--What if I have more than one (1) child with TS, do I need to purchase more than one Membership?

This is common.  If more than one child with TS in your family is registered, you will also get a small welcome pack for each diagnosed child and you can access services for each of them with just one membership.

#8--Does an adult with TS need a Membership?

An adult with TS may want to purchase a Lifetime Membership to access services, insure their newsletters continue or just to support PA-TSA's mission!

#9--Can I access Consultant Services without a Membership?

Yes, because we are supported in part by the PA Department of Health, anyone can call for support and information to access Consultant Services.

#10--What is the difference between “Registering” and “Lifetime Membership”?

There are several differences between "Registering" and "Lifetime Membership".  With Lifetime Membership you receive an online Welcome Kit, a mailed Welcome Kit, a hard plastic membership card and access to the Members Only section of the website.  You also receive 10% discount for TS Family Camp.

#11--Should I purchase a Membership for myself and another one for my spouse?

A family may want to purchase multiple memberships to support the services of the PA Tourette Syndrome Alliance.

#12--Can I pay the $100 in installments?

Your $100 membership fee can be paid by credit card or by sending a check to PA-TSA at P.O. Box 148, McSherrystown, PA 17344.  If you would like to pay in 4 installments of $25.00 each, please click here for that online payment option or contact the office at 1-800-990-3300 to arrange to pay by check.

#13--Is there a scholarship fund?

We are currently starting a scholarship fund to assist those that would like to be Lifetime Members but lack the funds to do so.

#14--How can I get a scholarship Membership?

Until there are scholarship funds available, you can request a scholarship for 1 year at a time by writing to sherrie@patsainc.org

#15--Do my other donations count towards Membership?

This can be done at times, on a case-by-case basis.  Please contact us at sherrie@patsainc.org to discuss this option.

#16--Can a business or practice support PA-TSA by purchasing a Membership?
